‘Worlds Leading Destination’ second year running

It was no surprise to us that Portugal was voted the ‘World’s Leading Destination’ again in 2018, and this was just one of the 16 prizes they were awarded on home soil at the Grand Final Gala Ceremony in Lisbon on the 1st December 2018. The country is becoming increasingly recognised for its work in relation to tourism, and were also the winners of ‘World’s Leading Tourist Board’, ‘Europe’s Leading Travel Destination’ and Lisbon proudly accepted ‘World’s Leading City Destination’.

Striving for success

Voters include qualified executives working within travel and tourism and the consumer travel buyer. With awards presented across three tiers: country, regional and world awards, Portugal continues to improve year on year, achieving outstanding results. The encouragement and drive to continually raise the standards of their product and service offering, are really putting the once unknown destination on the tourist map.

The next Grand Final Gala Ceremony will be held in Muscat, Oman. We’re looking forward to seeing what can be achieved in the year of 2019!
